How do I book a photography session?
You can email me at email@example.com or call 732-232-9461. You can also fill out the contact form in the Contact area of this website. Once I receive your message, I will contact you within a few days. We can complete our consultation either over the phone or in person.
Who will be my photographer?
I will! My name is Jennifer Hendershot and I am the soul photographer for Share This Smile. I may bring along a trusted assistant for special sessions to help behind the scenes. Many times, especially during newborn sessions, I will ask mom or dad to fill this role.
When should I schedule my maternity session?
The best time for a maternity session is between 32 and 36 weeks.
When should I schedule my newborn session?
When you call to schedule, we will pencil in a session for 5-10 days after your due date. You can keep me posted on your delivery status and we can adjust as necessary. We can also schedule this during your maternity session or over the phone if you are just interested in a newborn session.
Where should we do our newborn session and is there anything special we should do to prepare?
Unless you wish for a different location, newborn sessions will be done in the family home. This is the most comfortable place for everyone. Your baby would ideally be sleepy and have a full belly before starting. A good idea would be to keep her up and alert for the hour before and feed her right before the session begins. Of course I completely understand that this is not always possible, so don't stress! I will work around the baby's needs. Please allow about 2 hours for a newborn session so we can take breaks for feedings and diaper changes (although I may continue to snap pictures during these special moments!)
What can I expect to do during our session? Do you use props?
During your session, I will take posed and candid pictures, and capture everything in between. I do not provide props for photography sessions. The only exception is that I will bring freshly washed blankets for newborn sessions. I personally believe in the less is more approach and I like to take pictures that are the most natural in the environment you have chosen. However, if you have something special you want included in your photography session, please do not be shy and bring it along! If you have a specific image that you want for your own, please make sure to let me know this. These are your pictures and I am happy to accommodate your vision along with my own.
What should I wear/bring to my photo session?
I recommend that clients should be comfortable and look as natural as possible. I can help you make clothing suggestions based on the location and style you are interested in. Bring along with you a hair brush, touch up for makeup, tissues, and a bottle of water. I will email you a list to help you better prepare about one week before your session.
What if I need to cancel?
Please call me as soon as possible to cancel. Deposits are non-refundable, but I will be happy to reschedule your session for the next available date.
What happens if there is inclement weather?
In the event of rain, snow, or extreme wind, we will reschedule for the next available date. If the conditions are not extreme and you would like to continue with your pictures, we can definitely go ahead using umbrellas, rain boots, snow gear, etc. However, the morning of your session, we will need to evaluated carefully that the travel and on location conditions would be safe enough to do so.
Do you travel?
Yes! Although my primary area is Tega Cay/Fort Mill/Charlotte, I am willing to travel to many different areas of the East Coast. Anything over 30 miles from my home would be subject to a travel fee based on the circumstance.
When do you typically schedule photography sessions?
I am a school teacher by day, so during the months of August- June, my photography sessions will take place on the evenings, weekends, and during school breaks. During the summer months when school is not in session, I will book photography sessions 7 days a week. My preferred time of day is within 2 hours of sunrise or the last 2 hours of sunlight.
Where do you like to shoot pictures?
I will take pictures everywhere and anywhere. I prefer outdoors, but can definitely accommodate other locations. You can choose your own location or I can make recommendations.
How long until I can see my photos online?
Your edited digital images will be available on SmugMug within 30 days of your session. If you need a rush order an additional fee of $50 will apply.
How long will my photos be available to me online?
Your SmugMug gallery is guaranteed to remain online for no less than 90 days. Most galleries will remain up to a year or more. You have the unlimited ability to purchase and download your images for personal use from that site during this timeframe.
Will you feature my photos in your galleries?
I will feature many of my client's pictures on this website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. All clients are agreeing to allow their images to appear on these sites when booking session with me.
